Message from the Director

REAL is the Regional Education Academy for Leadership at the University of St. Francis, and is a division of the College of Education.  We provide quality training through classes, workshops and conferences for teachers in the field. Whether you are a teacher, a group of teachers, an entire building or even a whole district, REAL can help everyone become more successful. Our goal at REAL is to partner with a community of teachers to provide quality, graduate level courses that are cost efficient and improve teacher and student outcomes.  The courses, workshops and conferences can also help teachers earn hours towards recertification.

Courses for teachers and districts
REAL has offered a variety of courses, institutes, workshops and has partnered with nationally recognized professional development agencies that focus on enhancing professional practice. Some recent courses and partnerships in 2008 include:

Consulting Partnerships
Through customized consultant projects, REAL has created partnerships with local school districts for training in the areas of technology, special education, best practices in content instruction, National Board Certification, Differentiated Instruction, Brain-based Learning and other district specific training.
The course and training possibilities are limitless because of the customization that REAL offers teachers and school districts.  We encourage courses and institute days designed by teachers for specific district needs or teaching specialties.

As the Director of REAL, I look forward to working with you to tailor-make courses and trainings that will benefit teachers, administrators and children alike. With a resource like REAL, school districts can make connections between positive school environments and increasing outcomes for students.

Sincerely,
Alice Cahill
