Regional Education Academy of Leadership (REAL)
New Teacher Training/Induction
Induction is designed as a training opportunity for Initial Certification holders. Topics are determined by an individual school district and can be designed to fit the needs of that district's new teacher population. Professional orientation is provided through specific training in the following areas:
- content area strategies and resources
- classroom management and procedures
- meeting the needs of students with disabilities
- effective communication techniques
Currently, Plainfield District 202, New Lenox District 122, Joliet Township High School, Richland District 88A and Fairmont District 89 are utilizing the following courses:
- The Effective Teacher
- The Differentiated Classroom
- Brain-Based Learning
- Strategies that Support a Balanced Literacy Framework
- Current Issues for Certified Support Staff
Two hours of graduate credit can be available per class.
