The department oversees two Mac platform graphic design teaching labs equipped with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, In-Design, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash). In addition, video editing is available on all workstations. It introduces students to the video editing application Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier and audio editing equipment.
Further, the department oversees a large format printing lab that allows students to fully realize their production talents by working with medium and large format printers. Students are capable of mural printing to 72 x 42 inches. These tools are used for the production of portfolios and the student’s senior thesis exhibition.
It is important to note that these graphics labs are the ideal size for teaching. Each lab is outfitted with 11 student stations and one teaching station. Students receive a great deal of one-on-one contact with faculty. All labs are networked to the internet via land lines and have access to the department’s WiFi. Therefore, students interested in working with their own laptop have access to the department’s network, but also have the option of utilizing the department’s hardware and software during their studies.
