The Educational Leadership program at the University of St. Francis was a great experience for me to learn about the field of school administration. I had the fortune of learning from great professors who had a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with us. Everyone involved in the program at USF were very helpful. As I entered my first leadership position this past fall as assistant athletic director at Lockport Township High School, I felt very prepared and confident because of this program. I highly recommend the Educational Leadership program at USF!

University of St. Francis has truly prepared me for the changes and demands of Educational Leadership. The professors were all working professionals able to share their diverse experience and expertise with their students. Throughout the program I felt supported by the professors and individuals overseeing the Leadership Program. I highly recommend the programs offered by University of Saint Francis and am fortunate to have been offered this opportunity for professional growth and development.

During my time enrolled in USF’s Ed Leadership program, I experienced a great program, facilities, and especially teachers. The Ed Leadership program was well thought out and prompted the candidates to look reflectively at their current practices in order to promote their leadership philosophy. Opportunities for personal and professional growth were abundant and woven throughout the curriculum. The facilities provided to the students were of the highest standards for both comfort and convenience. Students could and can find a program close to home. The teachers charged with guiding the growth of candidates were of the highest quality. The teacher encouraged reflective thinking and growth as well as practiced this in their own teaching.

The Educational Leadership program offered through the University of St. Francis prepared me for an administrative position in education. The courses were taught by professors in the field and all of the adjuncts had many years of experience as superintendents and, or principals. The University offers a unique touch to its ED Leadership program, through practical hands on application. More phenomenal, is the time that the professors and program coordinator invested in many of us. I will never forget the mock interviews that were scheduled to prepare us for success in our future endeavors as administrators. As a result of their investment in me, I am an administrator working in the field of education today!

I have served as an adjunct professor for several years at the University of St. Francis in the Educational Leadership Program. I am continually impressed with the caliber of curriculum offered to candidates in this program. The program coordinators focus on providing the proper balance of research-driven cognitive knowledge juxtaposed with practitioner experiences. Our district has hired graduates from St. Francis and we have never been disappointed; they are excellent additions to our team.

These last two years in the leadership program at USF has gone by so fast because everything that we do focuses on our target – education leadership. All assignments and projects have a focus in mind that will give us insight and leadership experience when we are administrators someday. I love that our professors have first hand experiences to help us understand expectations and qualities of leaders. They also are understanding and realize that we have lives, families, and responsibilities outside of the program too. We have gained unspeakable knowledge during our two internships that helped pave the way with our background in leadership experience.

My experiences with the Educational Leadership Program have been extremely positive both as an adjunct in the classrooms and as a superintendent who reaps the benefits of having teachers on staff who have been through the program. The Leadership Program is a very realistic program that prepares the students for the ever changing and challenging aspects of being a school teacher. The professional development focuses on the moral and ethical decisions that leaders make every day. I commend the leadership of St. Francis for implementing such a wonderful leadership program.

The Educational Leadership Program exposed me to everyday educational topics I was familiar with but challenged me to look at them through an administrative lens. This process promoted growth as a teacher leader because of the new perspective I gained and guided me to mold my administrative philosophy. The projects included in the culminating portfolio involved a variety of areas and allowed us to reflect on each. I moved into an administrative role shortly after finishing the Educational Leadership Program, and I felt that I was prepared to take that next step because of the number of experiences I had during my program.
