Subsequent Licensure

SUBSEQUENT LICENSURE
THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. FRANCIS

The College of Education at the University of St. Francis offers current Illinois elementary, special education, or secondary license holders the opportunity to obtain a subsequent license as a non-degree seeking student. A major in the secondary license area is required before admission to this program. A minimum of 9 semester hours must be completed at the University of St. Francis and a minimum 1 hr. practicum field experience in the area of licensure is also required.

The following are available subsequent licenses:

  • Elementary Education License
  • Special Education License
  • Secondary Education License (A major in the licensure area is required before admission.)
    • English/Language Arts
    • Mathematics
    • Science: Biology
    • Social Science: History

Application Requirements:

  • Application
  • Official Transcripts
  • Copy of Illinois Teaching License
  • Copy of most recent teacher evaluation (if applicable)
