Wind Ensemble

The USF Wind Ensemble (founded in Spring 2012) gives students the opportunity to collaborate with other talented local and regional musicians, performing a wide repertoire including music from the beginning of the wind band era to newly composed works. Repertoire choices range four centuries, well beyond the typical programs of mainstream bands. Another unique feature of the USF Wind Ensemble is the “composer-in-residence” program, which combines brings together the musicians and a new composition and its composer. Our first composer-in-residence was Michael Markowski, who dedicated his “Walden” in honor of the USF band program.
