The music field is very wide and a degree in music offers many dynamic careers in the arts. USF offers three different degree tracks in music to tailor your education to your career direction.
B.A. (Non Teaching) is a four year degree in music that leads to exciting and fulfilling careers in music related fields such as music merchandising, music business, music manufacturing, music technology, music management, copyright law, music copyist, composer/arranger, film scoring, private studio teaching, recording techniques, and many others.
B.A. in Music Education (Illinois Teaching Licensure) degree leads to a professional career in education as a music educator in the K-12 schools.
B.A. in Digital Audio Recording Arts (DARA) prepares students for a professional career in the rapidly growing digital audio recording industry. The program provides a solid foundation in music and the liberal arts, as well as technical proficiency in recording technology.
B.M. in Performance (Voice, Piano, or Guitar ) prepares students for a career as a professional performing musician or college level teacher and prepares students for further study in graduate school.
