The University of St. Francis is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission's Academic Quality Improvement (AQIP) program. The HLC describes AQIP as an alternative accreditation process that “infuses the principles and benefits of continuous improvement into the culture of colleges and universities”.

AQIP Organizational Structure
During the first three years of the University's membership in AQIP, each of the four Action Projects was coordinated by a director who articulated AQIP principles and led implementation planning and action. All Action Project coordinators reported progress to the Provost.
The original four Action Projects were retired after they were completed and can be viewed above under the heading “Retired Action Projects”. The University currently has three new Action Projects in place and they are progressing at this time. These projects can also be viewed above under the heading “Current Action Projects”.
As the University has worked on its System Portfolio, it became obvious that Action Project coordinators had differing level of understanding of continuous quality improvement and therefore that people and areas involved in the projects had differing levels of understanding of the connection between their projects and continuous quality improvement. Therefore, as a part of the Systems Portfolio process, the University is re-engineering the organizational structure and processes of oversight and communication of quality improvement initiatives.
After our System's Portfolio was reviewed the AQIP Core Team undertook updating the System's Portfolio for the 2007-2008 academic year. Many lessons were learned from the first System's Portfolio and areas mentioned in the Systems Appraisal Feedback Report have been expanded to address the feedback. The link above will take you to the updated System's Portfolio.
