- At USF, we provided our students with more than $14.9 million in USF gift assistance for academic, athletic and need-based awards during 2011-2012
- During 2011-2012 the average gift assistance package for a transfer student was $13,640
- Of the $2.82 million dollars to transfer students in gift assistance from all sources 61 percent came from USF sources
- Most transfer students qualify for federal, state and other assistance programs in combination with USF aid; in 2011-2012 this amounted to $3.5 million in additional funding
- University of St. Francis participates in all of the education programs administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs including the new Yellow Ribbon GI Bill

Scholarships and Grants
- The scholarships listed require that students be accepted to the University of St. Francis and enrolled full time in a traditional undergraduate program.
- Scholarships and grants are renewable based on a student’s GPA at the University of St. Francis.
- Phi Theta Kappa, Transfer and the President’s Leadership Award may not be combined.
- Contact your Admission counselor to determine your eligibility for a scholarship or grant.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
$8,500 annually – Be a member of PTK National Community College honor society.
Transfer Scholarship
$5,000 annually (3.00 – 3.24 GPA)
$6,000 annually (3.25 – 3.49 GPA)
$7,000 annually (3.50- 4.00 GPA)
President’s Leadership Scholarship
Maximum $4,000 annually – Minimum 2.5 GPA.
Franciscan Challenge Scholarship
$1,000 to $3,000 annually (In addition to Transfer Scholarship) – Minimum 3.0 GPA; must major in Computer Science, Education, Mass Communication, Music, Recreation, Psychology, Social Work or Visual Arts.
Duns Scotus Fellow Scholarship (Honors Program)
Additional $1,000 plus 10 percent discount for on-campus housing – Interview and application required.
Biology Fellows Scholarship
Additional $3,000 annually – Awarded to select students majoring in the natural sciences with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Interview and application required.
Alumni Legacy Scholarship
$300 – $700 annually – Relatives of Alumni
Leach Endowed Scholarship
Awards vary – Nursing major with demonstrated financial need.
Athletic Scholarship
Awards vary – Athletic scholarships may be given in conjunction with academic scholarships.
Private Illinois Colleges and Universities (PICU) Scholarship
$500-$1,000, one time scholarship – Student must be enrolled in an Illinois community college, complete a minimum of 30 credit hours, have a 3.0 GPA and enroll in one of the 48 PICU member institutions. Offered every semester. For more details, visit www.picuonline.org/scholarships.
USF Music Scholarship
$100 – $1,000 annually – Audition with music director required.
Schola Cantorum Scholarship
$100 – $1,000 annually – Audition with music director required.
USF Grant
Based upon financial need as determined by FAFSA and USF awarding policy.
USF Family Discount
5% of full-tme traditional undergraduate tuition – Available for immediate family members when 2 or more students are registered full-time in a traditional undergraduate full-tuition rate program.
