Terrell, Billie (1977) has been appointed as a member of the national Council on Social Work Education-Council on Racial, Ethnic and Cultural Diversity. The council initiates new activities and programs related to ethnic minority groups in social work education, and promotes research into issues relevant to minority educators, students and alumni.
Johler, Karen (1980) has recently been promoted to Nursing Manager Minor Procedure Surgery area for the Franklin Medical facility for the Kaiser Permanente Insurance Company.
McKeand, Bret (1981) has recently written a book on the history of Sun City, Arizona. Published by Arcadia Publishing as part of its “Images of America” series, the book details the history of the nation’s first retirement community through stories and photographs. The photographs are from the archives of the Sun Cities Area Historical Society and the Sun City Independent, a weekly newspaper where Bret has worked since 1983. Bret presently serves as publisher and vice president of Independent Newspapers. All author royalties from the book are donated to the historical society. The book is available at amazon.com.
Bischoff Findeiss, Helen (1983) just celebrated 10 years of service in July of 2010 for the same company and has also just adopted a dog from Every Creature Counts through Borders of Love.
Cassels, Diane (1987) became the Executive Administrator for Winship Cancer Institute in August of 2010.
Rosen, Candice (1988) was appointed in November of 2010 by Mayor Daley as the Healthcare Committee Chair at Chicago Sister Cities International.
Goggins, Daniel (1991, 1996) became Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Student Services for Bremen High School District on July 1, 2010.
Klein, Gerard (1993) became CEO of Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County on January 6, 2011.
Lomax, Jackie (1998) received the HOPE (Helping Others Prepare for Excellence) award on November 20, 2010 from the University of St. Francis’ student group the Ethnic Affairs Council.
Slowinski, Christopher (1999, 2003) and his wife celebrated the birth of their first child, Benjamin, on October 20, 2010. He also recently accepted a new position as the Business Manager for IT with Northrop Grumman.
Walls, Amy (2001) is being honored on March 10, 2011 at the Joliet Area Great Teachers Banquet hosted by the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce.
Eggert, Katherine (2004) and Jonathan Womack (2005) are engaged to be married.
