A couple of alumnae are learning that starting a USF alumni chapter is easy way to foster the relationships developed during their university experience.
Both have taken the lead to formalize groups—one in Minneapolis and one in Birmingham, Ala.
Gail Morgan, a soon-to-be Health Administration alumna and location coordinator at a Birmingham site, said she’s honored to help start an alumni chapter.
Since Birmingham has had on-site classes for the past 20 years, there’s a base of alumni who are ready and eager to gather for networking opportunities, fun-filled events and gatherings throughout the city. “We had a dinner for the alumni and students in February and had over 45 people attend,” she said.
Wanda Teply, the chapter leader for the Minneapolis group, decided to head the group in order to maintain professional and personal relationships established through her two degree programs. She’s a 2005 Health Administration grad and graduated with her MBA in May 2010.
The Minneapolis-area alumni gathered to attend a play in November, but now with a formalized group Teply plans to bring alumni together for more frequent events.
USF has existing alumni chapters are in Allentown, Penn., Philadelphia, Phoenix, Washington DC and Williamsport, Penn.
