University of St. Francis’ past is being detailed in a new book. USF Archivist Linnea Knapp has authored a book titled “University of St. Francis,” which shares the history of the university and provides a unique pictorial history.
The title, which is part of Arcadia Publishing’s Campus History Series, will be available for purchase beginning Aug. 31. Its list price is $21.99. Knapp, who is the university’s first archivist, began working on the project shortly after she started wading through 90 years worth of USF artifacts.
“At some point I realized that there had never been a book published about the history of the university,” she said. “I knew about the local history books that Arcadia Publishing had done and thought their format would be a good fit for a small book about USF.”
The 128-page book details the university’s beginnings and its evolution into the vibrant community it is today. “We’re all very excited and can’t wait to share this printed collection of information and photos from the archives,” Knapp said.
