Sterr-Lehman, Carol A. (1956) retired from being a Kindergarten teacher. She is a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association, a member of Illinois State Genealogical Society, a volunteer at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, a volunteer at Will-Grundy Medical Clinic, a volunteer at the Joliet Public Library and a member St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Joliet.

Lega, Marsha (1967) is an artist/sculptor/photographer with a studio and gallery in downtown Joliet who works primarily in stainless steel. Her website is marshalega.com.

Pezza, Karen (Fannin) (1969) recently retired as principal at St. Mark School in Bristol, Penn.

Schultz, Cathy J. (1976) This school year marks her 20th year of teaching first grade at Wodden Elementary in Red Oak I.S.D. and her 30th year of teaching since graduation from USF.

Halberg, Bob (1976) is beginning his 8th year of teaching fifth grade. He also coaches high school cross country & track and spent over 20 years as an account executive in sporting goods & telephone industry.

Benson, Eva (1978) is ELA, ESL, GT, and has been a special education teacher for 15 years and counting. Her son Bryce is currently a marine in Afghanistan. Her daughter Casey, also a marine, is scheduled to be sent to Afghanastan in February. Her son Jasper is working toward his degree in radiology.

Pavinato, Deena (1978) was recently promoted to Sales and Center Process Manager at OfficeMax where she has been employed for 12 years.

Bischoff Findeiss, Helen Mary (1983) has just celebrated 10 years of service for the same company and has also just adopted a dog from Every Creature Counts through Borders of Love.

Maier, Ph.D., P.Log, Donald (1989) recently accepted position as Associate Professor of International Business & Logistics at the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine, where he will be helping to develop its program.

McLain, Jan M. (1989) is a medical review clinical nurse specialist and is certified as HCS-D and COS-C.

Wood, Marcia A. (1991) has been married to John for 21 years. They have seven children, five of which were adopted—one from China and four from Vietnam. She has been employed by Argonne National Laboratory for 31 years and is currently Group Leader of Computing and Communications at the Center for Nanoscale Materials.

Michaels, Kathryn A. (1995) is teaching sixth grade language arts & reading at Genoa-Kingston Middle School in Genoa, Ill., and achieved National Board Certification in 2009.

Hearn, Mark (1996) accepted the new position of practice administrator at Progressive Rehabilitation Associates in Iowa City, Iowa. He married Tina McCoy on March 8, 2010.

Melton, Kathleen A. (1998) is currently working on her doctorate at Northern Illinois University in education administration and is working as an elementary Assistant Principal in Oswego District 308. She and her husband, Jim, son, Mark (8), and daughter, Tessa (6) added two members to their family in June 2009 with the adoption of Alexa (5) and Liana (3) from Ethopia.

Blunt, Richard (1999) is currently an actor in a touring group.


Sepulveda, Mary M. (Kroeger) (2003) and her husband, Kevin, welcomed their first baby, Lauren Reilly Sepulveda, on Sept. 9, 2010. She weighed 7 lbs. 11 ozs. and was 20 inches long.



George, RN, BSN, MS, CRNI, Beverly (McGinnis) (2004) was a part of the core magnet committee at Central DuPage Hospital when the hospital earned national recognition for nursing excellence.

Rice, Amy L. (2005) and her husband William welcomed their first child, Eli Thomas Hornbuckle, on Aug. 9, 2010.

Leal, Julian (2006) was promoted on June 7, 2010 to Contract Specialist.

Clay, Michael (2007) just attained his Masters of Arts from Chicago State University and completed the Jim Evans Professional School of Umpiring. This past baseball season, he worked in rookie and single A divisions in Major League Baseball.

Grady, James M. (2008) is currently a Life Science Conference Producer for Marcus Evans Group, Life Sciences Division.

Martin, Danielle (2008) won the Illinois CPA Society Excel Bronze Award this year.

Pilch, John S. (2009) is celebrating his 11th year as an educator.



Worrell, Amanda K. (2010) was recently hired by the Medical Oncology Department at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Hospital in Chicago.



Bannatz, Meghan (2010) ran in the Chicago Marathon on Oct. 10, 2010 with Team Casa.


Bisek, Matthew (2010) & Michelle (Gearhart) (2010) were married June 19, 2010. Matt is now a member of the university’s Alumni Association Board.



Chiapello, Jeffrey (2010) ran in the Chicago Marathon on Oct. 10, 2010 with Team Casa.
