JOLIET, Ill. — University of St. Francis wants to put your sports, theater or music tickets to good use.
The university has joined Tix4Cause.com— an innovative ticket exchange website— to offer a novel way for individuals to support the university.
The Tix4Cause website provides an online platform where ticketholders can donate unwanted tickets to the university. The tickets are posted on its website and when sold, 100 percent of the proceeds are forwarded to the university. Individuals selling their tickets also may receive a tax deduction.
“This is a new way for alumni and friends to donate and help fund the university’s mission,” Director of Alumni Relations Aubrey Durish said. “Whether you have tickets to sell or you’re looking to buy, considerTix4Cause and USF first.” Tix4Cause handles customer service, including ticket processing and handling, and provides sellers with a letter documenting their donation.
“It’s clear that the downturned economy has had a crippling effect on giving,” said Kevin Nemetz, CEO of Tix4Cause.com. “But, with just one unfilled seat, Tix4Cause makes it easy for ticketholders to give generously to the University of St. Francis.”
