The Innovation Award recognizes a member or a team of members of the University community who has designed and implemented a significant innovation in any area of the University. This award has a student center focus and assists in building the future of the University of St. Francis. All members of the USF community can nominate and be nominated for this award. Self nominations are not accepted. The President and the President’s Vice President Council have the final decision in the selection of the awardee.
AWARD CRITERIA: An innovation award nominee should meet several of the following criteria:
- Quality – The innovation should measurably improve the “quality” of a(n) course, program, office and/or institution. Evidence may include statistics, survey results and testimonials.
- Efficiency – The innovation should evidence improved efficiency in completing tasks. Student ratings, perceptions of outside consultants and pre- and post- comparison of the time involved may be examples of evidence.
- Cost Effectiveness – The innovation should add value to the institution while at the same time not increasing or even better, reducing the costs. Cost data would serve as evidence.
- Creativity – The innovation should be original or creative in the adaptation.
- Time Frame – The innovation should not be more than five years old in the institution, but it must be old enough to prove its durability and utilizability.
- Core Values – The innovation should support one or more of the core values of the University of St. Francis.
