Stephen Toulmin

The Toulmin Model of Argumentation (1984) asserts that most arguments consist of the following six parts and six strategies, typically interconnected and used at various different levels of generality within an argument. This model can be used to generate learning objectives for writing, teach writing skills, assess written work, and examine the thinking faculty.
