Welcome to the Assessment Tools Page
The USF Assessment Council has gathered some resources for academic assessment. The Assessment Glossary includes the most commonly used assessment terms, alphabetically organized, each with a functional definition and most with some applied examples. The Assessment Rubrics are a collection of rubrics developed to assess classroom teaching and college writing. Cognitive/learning taxonomies are conceptually and empirically helpful to developing learning objectives and assessing cognitive abilities and skills. For example, Bloom's Revised Taxonomy of education objectives was the result of Anderson and Krathwohl's effort (2001) to combine the knowlege dimension (four types) and cognitive process dimension (six types) on the basis of the six levels within the cognitive domain and the six intellectual abilities exhibited in the cognitive learning domain described in Bloom's original learning taxonomy (1956). Suggested Readings include scholarly books, book chapters, and articles that review assessment literature or provide assessment instruments and suggestions for various assessment purposes. Clicking the links (in this paragraph or in the table above/on the right) will bring up the documents or web resources to you.
