PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tara Breshock, Saint Xavier University

Breshock, a junior middle blocker/outside hitter from Lansing, Illinois, claimed the honor for the second week in a row after leading the Cougars to a perfect 5-0 week, including four victories in the Indiana Wesleyan University Tiger Invitational over the weekend, where she also garnered all-tournament distinction.

Breshock did so by tallying four straight double-digit kill matches at the invitational leading to her overall 3.80 kills per game and .471 attack percentage for the week. In her five matches, she committed no more than two errors in any contest.

Breshock's other numbers included nine digs and eight blocks, seven of which were assisted blocks.

SETTER OF THE WEEK
Traci Looby, Saint Xavier University

Looby, a junior setter from Orland Hills, Illinois, closed out her week by registering three 50-plus assist matches, all of which came at the Indiana Wesleyan University Tiger Invitational, where she was recognized as an all-tournament selection.

Looby ran an offense that produced an unblemished 5-0 mark, averaging 12.21 assists per game and a .359 attack percentage with her 16 kills in 19 games.

She didn't stop there, either, also averaging 3.53 digs on defense and recording 10 aces and nine blocks for a solid all-around performance.

LIBERO OF THE WEEK
Jenna Guide, Saint Xavier University

Guide, a sophomore libero from Orland Park, IL, was a defensive key in the Cougars' perfect 5-0 mark for the week, averaging 7.07 digs per contest. In each of her first four matches, she produced no less than 16 digs, including 34 in a three-set win over Trevecca Nazarene University (TN).

She also tallied five aces on the offensive end with three coming against Huntington University (IN).

Week Ending October 8, 2006

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tara Breshock, Saint Xavier University

Breshock, a junior middle blocker/outside hitter, was dominating in the Cougars' 3-1 mark at the Cornerstone University Golden Eagle Classic over the weekend. Highlighting the performance was her 4.08 kills per match and astounding .603 attack percentage. In 12 matches, she committed just five errors opposite 49 kills in 73 total chances.

Breshock also totalled 14 blocks (7 solo, 7 assisted) and six digs for the Cougars in her team's four matches last week.

For those efforts, Breshock was named to the all-tournament squad at Cornerstone.

SETTER OF THE WEEK
Traci Looby, Saint Xavier University

Looby, a junior setter, authored double-digit assist and dig totals in each of her four matches at the Cornerstone University Golden Eagle Classic over the weekend, where the Cougars went 3-1. Overall, that averaged out to 13.2 assists and 4.4 digs per contest.

Looby also recorded at least one ace per match (0.42 average) and six blocks, including two of the solo variety for the week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Katarina Stanojevic, Olivet Nazarene University

Stanojevic, a junior right-side attacker, boasted a .342 attack percentage, while averaging 2.85 kills per game for the Tigers, who went 3-2 with four matches against nationally-ranked teams this past week. Included was an upset win over NAIA No. 8 Savannah College of Art & Design (GA), not to mention a victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene University (OH), which was among other schools receiving votes by the raters.

Stanojevic, who posted four double-digit kill matches, also produced two assists, 16 digs, eight aces, and 14 blocks (4 solo, 10 assisted) in her 20 games played

SETTER OF THE WEEK
Megan Gullickson, Olivet Nazarene University

Gullickson, a senior setter, averaged 3.2 digs and 10.8 assists for the week, with two matches of no less than 50 assists. Against Mount Vernon Nazarene University (OH) alone, a team that was among others receiving votes in the NAIA national poll, Gullickson recorded 10 kills, 50 assists and 15 digs in a five-set win.

Her other numbers included a .393 attack percentage, 1.26 kills per game, 10 aces and four blocks for the Tigers, who also knocked off NAIA No. 8-ranked Savannah College of Art & Design (GA) as part of their 3-2 week.

LIBERO OF THE WEEK
Michelle Kapteyn, Olivet Nazarene University

Kapteyn, a freshman, averaged 4.8 digs and 6.0 passes per game, not to mention a .947 serve reception percentage for Olivet Nazarene University, which went 3-2 during the seven-day period, including victories over NAIA No. 8-ranked Savannah College of Art & Design (GA) and Mount Vernon Nazarene University (OH), which was among others receiving votes in last week's poll.

Kapteyn also notched 12 aces in her 21 games played, with five of the aces coming against Mount Vernon Nazarene.
