JOLIET, Ill. -- University of St. Francis head football coach Mike Uremovich has announced the signings of three more student/athletes to letters-of-intent. All three will enroll at USF in the fall of 2007.
Joining the 2007 recruiting class are linebacker Jesse Alanis (Bolingbrook H.S./Bolingbrook, Ill.), offensive lineman Nick Reicher (Downers Grove North H.S./Westmont, Ill.) and tight end Shay Sticka (DeKalb H.S./DeKalb, Ill.).
Alanis helped lead Bolingbrook to a 9-3 campaign as a senior and the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs. He served as a team captain for the Raiders and earned the team’s best linebacker award. He received honorable mention all-area accolades as a senior and first-team all-area recognition as a junior. Alanis had a total of 168 tackles in his career with 10 quarterback sacks.
Reicher was voted his prep team’s Offensive Lineman of the Year as a senior this past fall and was a first-team all-West Suburban Silver Conference selection. He was named all-DuPage County following his senior season by the Daily Herald. A two sport-standout, he also plays basketball for Downers Grove North and serves as a team captain on the hardwood.
Sticka is a two-time all-Western Sun Conference pick at DeKalb. Like Reicher, he was voted his team’s top offensive lineman and also served as captain of the gridiron squad as a senior. He also wrestles for the Barbs.
