MANNY MAGANA EARNS ALL-CCAC RECOGNITION
For Immediate Release
November 29, 2005

University of St. Francis senior defender Manny Magana (East Aurora HS/Yorkville, IL) was the lone Saints’ representative on the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference post-season honors team.

Magana was one of 13 players who earned honorable mention in a vote of league coaches. There were an additional 14 players named to the All-CCAC first team.

This marked the third straight year that Magana earned All-CCAC honorable mention recognition. He started all 17 matches for the Saints this year and was the club’s top defender. He also had one assist.

Magana scored 10 points on four goals and a pair of assists as a junior in 2004. He was a four-year starter for the Saints.

"Manny gave us great leadership on defense," said USF head coach Mario Dukovac. "I never had to worry about his effort or his performance. He is a key player that we will have to replace in 2006."

Dukovac’s Saints finished the 2005 season with an 8-9 overall record and a 2-6 mark in the CCAC.
