BEN ORRIS EARNS ALL-CCAC RECOGNITION
For Immediate Release
November 1, 2006

University of St. Francis senior goalkeeper Ben Orris (Granite City HS/Granite City, IL) is the lone Saints’ representative on the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference post-season honors team.

Orris was one of 14 players who earned second-team recognition in a vote of league coaches. There were an additional 14 players named to the All-CCAC first team.

Orris started all 17 games in goal for the Saints in 2006 and played all but 67 minutes on the season. He posted three shutouts in 17 games and fashioned a 1.82 goals-against-average. USF opponents scored three or more goals on only five occasions. Orris’ shutouts came against Union (KY), North Central and Trinity Christian.

“Ben had an outstanding season for us in goal this year and has been a steady performer throughout his four years at St. Francis,” said USF head coach Mario Dukovac. “He kept us in a lot of games and faced some very formidable competition. The CCAC is one of the stronger conferences in the NAIA.”

Dukovac’s Saints finished the 2006 season with an 4-12-1 overall record and a 1-8 mark in the CCAC.
