SCHULTZ NAMED CCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

University of St. Francis junior utility player Stacy Schultz (Romeoville H.S./Joliet, IL) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week after hitting .484 with 15 hits in 31 official at bats in nine games for the week ending Sunday, April 16.

Schultz’s 15 hits led the team as the Lady Saints posted a 5-4 record for the week, including a split in four key conference matchups. Her 15 hits included one triple and one home run and she also collected six RBI.

Schultz has played a variety of positions for USF this season, spending the majority of her time in right field or at first base. She has also played some second base and served as the team’s designated player.

For the season, the versatile Schultz is hitting .396 with three home runs and 22 RBI. She leads the club in triples (3) and ranks second on the team in hits (40), doubles (5), home runs (3) and batting average.

St. Francis currently stands 18-16 overall and is 6-4 in CCAC play. The Saints play next in a CCAC doubleheader at Trinity International on Wednesday (April 19).
