FRANCIS TO HOST ANNUAL SOFTBALL COACHES
CLINIC

University of St. Francis will again
be offering its annual winter softball
clinic for coaches and parents involved
with all levels of play, including little
league and summer in-house, travel and
recreational teams.
The
clinic will be held on Sunday, Feb.
12 from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the universitys
Recreation Center, located at 500 North
Wilcox Street in Joliet.
The
clinic will feature the coaching staff
of the Lady Saints' softball squad,
consisting of head coach Dick Smith,
pitching coach Dave Beckman and assistant
coach Autumn Wendler.
Highlighting
the list of guest speakers is USF head
baseball coach Gordie Gillespie, college
baseballs all-time winningest
coach. Gillespies topic will be
the "Psychology of Coaching."
Other
guest speakers include Loyola University
head softball coach Yvette Healy, Chicago
Bulls and White Sox Training Academy
Fastpitch Operations Director Kathy
Young and former USF and Bradley assistant
coach Ernie Smith.
All
aspects of the game of fast-pitch softball
will be discussed at the day-long clinic.
A complimentary lunch will also be provided.
The
cost for the clinic is $30.00 in advance
or $35.00 at the door. Group rates are
