FOUR USF PLAYERS SELECTED TO ALL-CCAC TEAM
For Immediate Release
May 4, 2005

Four University of St. Francis softball players were recently voted to the all-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference team, including sophomore third baseman Jaci Warner (Plainfield Central H.S./Crest Hill, IL), who was selected as the CCAC’s Player of the Year.

Joining Warner on the first team were sophomore first baseman Gina Procissi (Bishop Noll H.S./Whiting, IN), freshman shortstop Jamie Redman (Lincoln-Way Central H.S./New Lenox, IL) and junior designated hitter/pitcher Jenny Schade (Waubonsie Valley H.S./Aurora, IL).

Warner, the conference’s Freshman of the Year in 2004, is currently the league leader in slugging percentage (.757), RBIs (49), RBIs per game (1.09) and doubles (14 - tied). She also is second in home runs (11), third in home runs per game (0.24) and doubles per game (0.31), sixth in runs scored (33), seventh in runs per game (0.73) and eighth in batting average (.389).

The 11 homers are the second most ever by a Lady Saint for a season, while the 49 RBIs are tied for the fourth-best total for a year.

Procissi, a .316 hitter who was honorable mention all-conference as a freshman, is tied for third in the CCAC in triples (5) and tied for fourth in triples per game (0.11). She ranks first among the USF starters with a .986 fielding percentage and is third on the team with 43 hits, five home runs and seven doubles.

In the CCAC standings, Redman is second in runs (41) and runs per game (0.85), fifth in batting average (.402), sixth in stolen bases (13), seventh in stolen bases per game (0.27) and eighth in slugging percentage (.604), home runs (6) and home runs per game (0.13 - tied).

Along with those totals, Redman leads St. Francis with 68 hits and needs just three more to move into a fifth-place tie in team history for hits in a season. She can also tie for fifth on the Lady Saints’ all-time list with five more runs scored.

Schade, competing in her first season at USF, has contributed as both a hitter and pitcher. Offensively, she is tied for first in the conference in triples per game (0.14) and tied for third in triples (5), while placing fourth in batting average (.404) and 10th in slugging percentage (.564).

On the mound, Schade is third in the CCAC in strikeouts per seven innings (6.41) and victories (13 - tied) and fourth in ERA (2.26) and winning percentage (.542, 13-11).

The Lady Saints are 25-25 overall and finished third in the conference with a 10-8 mark. USF will play host to the six-team CCAC Tournament from May 4-6.
