JOLIET, Ill. --- For the second time in as many weeks, University of St. Francis senior outside hitter Lisa Klein (Hall H.S./Ladd, Ill.) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week following her record-setting performance in a 4-1 week for the Lady Saints.

After turning in 5.19 kills per game and a .370 attack percentage last week, Klein followed up with a 5.25 kills per game average this past week, with a personal-best 29 kills opposite only four errors in a four-set win over St. Ambrose University (Iowa) in opening-round play of the USF Invitational on Friday.

Klein set the tone for the week in a straight-set win over conference foe Trinity Christian College on Tuesday when she authored 15 kills against only one error in 26 chances (.538 attack pct.) to go along with six digs. She also registered double-digit kill totals in each of her other three matches in totaling 84 kills for the week in 16 games played. That led to her .290 attack percentage over the five matches.

Klein also recorded six assist blocks, four aces, five assists and 1.31 digs per game for the week.

St. Francis, a winner of seven of its last eight decisions, saw its season-high six-match winning streak come to an end Saturday morning in a three-set loss to NAIA No. 17-ranked Cornerstone University (Mich.). That was sandwiched around straight-set wins over Missouri Valley College on Friday and Judson University on Saturday at USF’s Invitational, where the Lady Saints went 3-1.

USF is 10-8 overall and 2-0 in the CCAC, thus far.
