SAINTS SIGN PLAINFIELD SOUTH VOLLEYBALL STANDOUT

JOLIET, Ill. -- University of St. Francis has signed Plainfield South High School senior Lauren Hoffman to a letter-of-intent to play volleyball for the Saints beginning next fall.

Hoffman, a 5-10 middle blocker, was a first-team all-area selection as a senior and a second-team pick as a junior by the Herald News. She was named the Cougars’ Most Valuable Player at the conclusion of her senior season and also served as team captain.

Hoffman was a first-team all-Southwest Prairie Conference choice as both a junior and a senior and was named the league’s MVP this past year.

She finished her senior season with 321 kills, 65 service aces, 79 solo blocks, 55 block assists and 63 digs.

Hoffman plans to study pre-dentistry at USF.
