BRITTANI HUNTER NAMED CCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
For Immediate Release
February 21, 2007

University of St. Francis sophomore guard/forward Brittani Hunter (Lockport Township H.S./Homer Glen, IL) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 15-20.

Hunter led the Lady Saints to a pair of CCAC victories. She scored 14 points and hit four 3-point baskets in a 91-72 road win over Robert Morris on Feb. 14. She followed that effort with an 18-point, 6-rebound game in a 93-58 home win over Illinois Tech on Saturday. The 18 points matched her 2006-07 season high.

The Lady Saints currently stand 16-13 overall and have clinched third place in the CCAC final standings. USF completes its regular season on Saturday at Purdue Calumet and will play host to a first-round conference tournament game on Tuesday, Feb.27. The starting time and opponent will be determined later this week.

This marks the third straight week that a USF player has earned the CCAC women’s basketball weekly honor. Freshman Jacqie Storm (Sandburg H.S./Orland Park, IL) was the award winner each of the two previous weeks.
