Jeff Thompson, who served as an assistant coach for the Saints in the 2007-08 season, has been named head coach of the USF women's basektball program.
Thompson played high school basketball in the Chicago Catholic League at St. Laurence, where he graduated in 1983. He played two seasons at the junior college level at Moraine Valley CC and Wabash Valley College and continued his playing career at the international level.
Thompson spent three seasons in South America, playing for teams based in both Chile and Peru from 1996 through 1998. He also played with Kaminksy on the Chicago Challengers both before and after his time in South America.
Thompson, who works as a foreman for Alliance Fire Protection in Chicago, and his wife Leslie reside in Frankfort.
