JACQIE STORM NAMED CCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
For Immediate Release
February 6, 2007

University of St. Francis freshman guard/forward Jacqie Storm (Sandburg H.S./Orland Park, IL) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 3.

Storm led the Lady Saints to a pair of CCAC victories as the first half of the conference round-robin schedule ended and the second half began. The product of Sandburg High School tallied team-high totals of 22 points in an 82-57 win over Purdue Calumet at home on Jan. 30 and 23 points in an 89-74 victory at Indiana South Bend on Saturday.

Storm made 10-of-14 shots from the floor in the Purdue Calumet game and sank 8-of-12 (including 4-of-7 from three-point range) in the game at South Bend. She currently ranks third in the CCAC in scoring with an average of 15.8 points per game and is the top-scoring freshman in the conference. She has topped the 20-point mark nine times in 25 games this year.

This marks the second time this season that Storm has received the weekly CCAC accolade. She was recognized back in the season’s first week after leading the Saints to victories in their first two games of the year with 19 points against Trinity International and a career-best 29 against NAIA Division II nationally-ranked Aquinas (MI).

The Lady Saints currently stand 14-11 overall and are in third place in the conference with a 5-2 CCAC mark. USF plays host to CCAC co-leader Olivet Nazarene this Saturday (Feb. 10) at 5:15 p.m. in the first half of a women’s/men’s doubleheader at the USF Recreation Center.
