January 22, 2008
Two all-around solid performances by University of St. Francis’ Kristina Yedinak (Marquette H.S./Ransom, Ill.), including one that keyed a 69-62 upset of NAIA I No. 24-ranked Georgetown College (Ky.), have earned the junior forward Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Division I Player of the Week honors for the seven-day period ending January 20.
Yedinak was all over the court in her team’s split decisions during the week, averaging 15.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 4.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in near-identical showings versus Indiana University South Bend (Jan. 15) and Georgetown (Jan. 19).
Yedinak contributed 15 points, six rebounds, seven steals, four assists and three blocks in a 92-82 first-game conference setback. Four nights later, she tallied 16 points, six rebounds and six assists opposite Georgetown, where she shot 60 percent from the field (6-of-10).
USF’s 1-1 record for the week left it at 11-9 overall and 0-1 in league play.
