For Immediate Release
March 21, 2007

JOLIET, Ill. -- University of St. Francis announces the signings of five more student-athletes to national letters of intent. The group includes two future members of the Saints’ women’s track and field and cross country programs, two women’s golfers and one male golfer.

Stephanie Frasca (Addison Trail H.S./Addison, IL) and Lisa Stolzenbach (Beecher H.S./Beecher, IL) will join head coach Drew Ludtke’s women’s cross country and track teams.

Frasca is completing her second year at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn and concentrates on the sprints for the Chaparrals. She participated in both track and field and gymnastics as a prep at Addison Trail and served as team captain of both teams as a senior. She also earned team Most Valuable Player honors in track as a senior.

Stolzenbach is a distance runner and will graduate from Beecher High this spring. She plans to run both cross country and track for the Saints. She has lettered in cross country, track and soccer at Beecher and helped lead her cross country team to River Valley Conference, regional and sectional championships this past fall. Beecher finished seventh as a team at the Illinois Cross Country Class A Championship meet. Individually, she finished 90th in the state meet as a senior after placing 102nd as a junior, 59th as a sophomore and 84th as a freshman. She served as a team captain the last three seasons and was Beecher’s team MVP as a freshman, sophomore and junior. An outstanding student, she ranks No. 3 out of 83 students in her senior class.

Two golfers -- Ariel Jagmin (Lincoln-Way East H.S./Frankfort, IL) and Katy Doolan (Downers Grove South H.S./Downers Grove, IL) -- will enroll at USF in the fall and join head coach Tom O’Connor’s women’s golf program.

Jagmin is a four-time letter winner and three-time all SouthWest Suburban Conference selection at Lincoln-Way East. She led the Griffins to a second-place finish at the 2006 Minooka Regional with a team-low round of 84. She also lettered twice in badminton as a freshman and sophomore.

Doolan is a three-year varsity letter winner at Downers Grove South. She captained her squad as a senior and earned team MVP honors. She advanced as an individual to the sectional round of the state tournament in 2006.

Joining head coach Paul Downey’s USF men’s program will be Pat Fitzgerald (Homewood-Flossmoor H.S./Flossmoor, IL). He completed his prep career last fall with an appearance in the Illinois Class AA state championship meet. He captured medalist honors with a round of 73 at the Crete-Monee Regional and led his H-F team to the regional title. He fired a 76 at the Midlothian Sectional to advance as an individual to the state meet. He also captured medalist honors and earned first-team recognition in the South Suburban Conference as a senior. His H-F team reached the state meet his sophomore season.
