Color Scheme for a Web Page:
Choose colors for a site carefully. If you choose a patterned or textured background for background image, be sure the text of the page is readable over it. If you choose a dark background color, choose light text for legibility. A light background with dark text will be more legible. Also keep in mind that the overall colors of the page should look good together.

Web Safe Colors: 216 colors are considered web safe colors that display the same way in Internet Explorer and Netscape and across Macintosh and PC. Dreamweaver uses 212 of these colors in all the Dreamweaver color palettes to choose backgrounds, text, link, colors.

Background Image: For a patterned background with texture, click the browse button by Background Image and identify a small .gif or .jpg file to tile across the page. The image file should be stored in the web page directory folder or a subdirectory of the web site.
