The objectives of the coursework and internship experiences in the Finance major are:

1. Provide a solid foundation in the understanding of financial concepts and processes which help determine the financial worthiness of a firm.

2. To build upon that foundation by introducing students to using and applying these financial and analytical skills in a variety of environments.

3. To allow students to see how the use of spreadsheet programs such as Excel and other Office ’97 products can develop critical thinking and problem solving.

4. To demonstrate the challenges firms face in the global marketplace by applying decision making processes in foreign markets.
