A FAST-TRACK PROGRAM FOR REGISTERED NURSES

College of Nursing and Allied Health, develop

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS TO THE UNIVERSITY:
- an application with fee
- proof of current licensure as a registered nurse
- transcripts of all college work and/or prior nursing education
- proof of professional liability insurance
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS TO THE RN BSN PROGRAM:
- completed health records
- two employer references attesting to clinical competencies
- proof of current CPR certification
Clinical experience can be with any of the more
than 100 health care organizations nationwide
with which the university has a working relationship.
For online students, contracts can be negotiated
for clinical experiences near
you.
To prepare you for the ongoing changes in health
care, emerging areas such as home health, managed
care, primary care clinics, public health and
hospice care are addressed in the curriculum along
with the more traditional areas such as hospitals,
long-term care and mental health. With such breadth
of experience and with the depth of an individualized
learning plan, you will be a professional well-prepared
for the future of the health care industry.

Program Requirements
The following are required for admission the RN BSN Fast Track:
- Completion of the Associate Degree in Nursing or diploma program with a minimum of 60-64 s.h. of transferable credit (a minimum grade of "C" is required for transfer).
- A minimum of 15 s.h. of transfer coursework in the following lower division general education areas:
Communications
Social/Behavioral Science
Math/Science
Humanities/Fine Arts
CLEP and Dantes may be available for General Education credit for students with than 96 credit hours.
Advanced Placement Credit for Nursing Education
Advanced placement credit (maximum 34 semester hours) is awarded upon submission of transcripts from an accredited associate diploma nursing program.
Additional Requirements
Nutrition is required through transfer or at USF.

Challenge exams are an option for students who prefer to study a subject on their own, and receive credit by successfully passing an exam. Challenge exams are available in the following nursing elective courses:
