Overview

Program for RNs with non-nursing baccalaureate degrees. This Advanced Practice Nursing program is
an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist with a concentration in nursing education.

The curriculum for the Advanced Practice Nursing Adult Health CNS with a concentration in Nursing Education program is built on the strong foundation of the core content of the graduate nursing program in the University of St. Francis College of Nursing and Allied Health. Substantial theory, research, public policy, and ethics content prepares nurses for clinical practice and leadership roles in health care education. Concepts in advanced practice such as adult health, health promotion, health policy, health care delivery systems, and educational foundations
and practices are included. Specialty courses in teaching will focus on teaching/learning theory, strategies and use of technology, faculty roles & responsibilities, curriculum development, research, evaluation, and professional development to provide the theoretical background, skills, and knowledge to prepare students for their practice roles.

Another distinctive feature of this program is that it will, using blended technologies, become a distance learning
program, available through the University’s WebCT tools.
