For Immediate Release
March 4, 2005

Three University of St. Francis men’s basketball players were recently selected to the all-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference team after a vote by league coaches.

Senior center Jon Womack (Stagg H.S./Palos Hills, IL) and sophomore guard Eric Epps (Rich South H.S./Matteson, IL) were both named to the first team, while senior forward Brandon Krug (Dwight H.S./Dwight, IL) was picked to the second team.

Womack, who garnered second-team honors a year ago, led the Saints and placed third in the CCAC in scoring (13.9 per game), rebounding (7.5 per game) and field goal percentage (.589).

Womack, one of the top USF players ever, is fifth in team history in career rebounds (715), seventh in games played (120, tied) and 10th in both scoring (1,224) and field goals made (486). His .589 field goal percentage this season is seventh best all-time by a Saint.

Epps, a point guard, was first in the CCAC in assists per game (5.30), second in steals per game (1.85) and third in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.51 to 1) and free throw percentage (.800).

Epps, who averaged 11.9 points per game, recorded St. Francis’ second-largest single-season totals ever this year with his 175 assists and 61 steals. Furthermore, his 136 made free throws are the third most in USF’s record book.

Krug, a second-team all-conference performer a year ago, was the CCAC leader in 2004-05 in blocks (62) and blocks-per-game average (2.00 per game) in addition to finishing fourth in three-pointers made per game (2.32) and ninth in rebounding (6.0).

Despite playing just three seasons at St. Francis, Krug, second on the team this year’s team with a 12.3 scoring average and the leader with 72 treys, has the program record for career blocks with 170.

The Saints finished the season with a 5-28 overall record and a 4-8 mark in the CCAC, which placed them fifth among seven teams.
