Bishop Joseph L. Imesch Award for "Excellence in Teaching"

About the Award

Because the University of St. Francis recognizes the need to acknowledge outstanding elementary and secondary teachers, the University honors one Catholic School Teacher by presenting him or her with the Bishop Joseph L. Imesch Award for "Excellence in Teaching." The award is presented during the College of Education's "Breakfast with the Bishop," which takes place during Catholic Schools Week.

This award was established on the occasion of Bishop Imesch's celebration of twenty-five years of spiritual leadership as a Bishop and in recognition of his commitment to Catholic Education.

The College of Education invites each school community to nominate a faculty member currently teaching in the Catholic schools of the Joliet Diocese. The teacher should be someone with the spirit of leadership and commitment, which is the foundation of Catholic education.

Criteria for Award

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
