| The College of Education will celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of the Spring 2005 Undergraduate and Graduate Advanced Field Experience teacher candidates at the Student Teacher Celeberation Dinner on May 4th. The dinner will be held in the USF Recreation Center and will begin at 5:30. Congratulations to all student teachers, mentor teachers, and supervisors for a great semester! | A second opportunity to attend "Protecting God's Children" training has been added to the Spring 2005 semester. The training for students is Friday, April 29, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. in St. Albert's Hall, Room A124. The training session will conclude at 6:00 p.m. This is for teacher candidates who have not participated in previous training sessions. For more information, or to varify if you must attend, contact your education advisor or the field experience office. | |

| USF teacher candidates in EDUC 216, Fine Arts Education, spent three Tuesday evenings in April and May working with students, ranging in age from 10-15, from the SOS Children's Village located in Lockport. Teacher candidates introduced the students to fine arts activities including topics on art of cave dwellers, African Djembe drum music, Meso-American rhythm instruments, the flowers of Georgia O'Keeffe and the Impressionism of Monet. | |

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 13th at 3:30 pm in the Abbey of Marian Hall. Dr. Condon will address any questions you have and discuss what schools look for when reviewing teacher applicants. | |

| Please join the College of Education in supporting the funding of our Professional Development School Partnership libraries by attending the next Scholastic Book Fair. The fair will be held April 4, 5, & 6 in the Moser Lounge from 11 am to 7 pm. Moser Lounge is located on the first floor of Tower Hall. Gift certificates are also available for purchase to benefit the schools. All proceeds will go to Farragut Elementary and A.O. Marshall Elementary, Professional Development Schools of the University of St. Francis, College of Education. | |

Marshall and Farragut Elementary Schools from Joliet School District 86. | On January 21st the College of Education hosted "Breakfast with the Bishop" to Celebrate Catholic Schools Week. The celebration was held at the University of St. Francis Recreation Center. A student from each catholic school is invited to attend with his or her parents and have breakfast with Bishop Imesch. During the event, the "Bishop Joseph L. Imesch Award for Excellence in Teaching" was presented to Sharon Hostert, teacher at St. Paul the Apostle in Joliet. more... | |
