Traveling Recruiter

The University of St. Francis is a Catholic, Franciscan institution, serving more than 4,300 students at locations throughout the nation. USF's main campus in Joliet, Ill. is located about 35 miles southwest of Chicago in a residential neighborhood and serves 1,300 students.
POSITION SUMMARY: The admission counselor supports, facilitates and coordinates the recruitment plan and activities of the graduate and degree completion admission department with a focus on lead generation, recruitment and enrolling qualified students in the USF graduate and degree completion programs at Joliet and off campus locations around the country. Counselors will also assist in developing new off campus enrollment sites as well as educational partnerships with organizations and employers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruitment and lead generation for GDC site based, online and off campus programs.
- Develop and implement recruitment travel plans to conduct information meetings, promotional visits and meetings with prospective students.
- Local, statewide and cross country travel to market and recruit for off-site locations.
- Perform face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with prospective students.
- Counsel and educate prospective students on various Adult Degree Completion and Graduate programs.
- Manage recruit and applicant caseloads in a timely manner.
- Utilize all available resources, including electronic, to successfully advise and guide individuals from interview to enrollment.
- Prepare applicants for registration.
- Support team objectives as well as individual goals as defined.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to interact and work successfully with other university personnel, alumni, community college counselors, corporate education liaisons and other affiliates.
- Proven organizational, written, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and evenings.
- Willingness to travel locally and out of state.
- Working knowledge of personal computer applications.
- Experience in admissions and recruitment, sales or higher education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree
- 3 years admissions experience working with non-traditional students.
- Previous experience in off campus recruitment initiatives.
