Cos

The second-largest of the Greek Dodecanese Islands (111 square miles),

at the entrance to the Gulf of Cos, an inlet of the Aegean on the coast of

southwestern Turkey. (See map below)

This island was known as the place that "mousseline," a fine, light,

transparent fabric was manufactured and supplied to the citizens of the

Roman Empire. AND...

During the Hellenistic Age, Cos was a favorite place for "men of letters"

to live. Sooo, # was clearly suggesting that the "tea-gowns" or garments that

the modern society wears pales in comparison to that of the more educated

society of Cos.

Also...Hippocrates was born here. (He's Pisistratus' daddy)
