Lady Saints bring five-game losing steak home

Runs are hard to come by, especially when you're losing. The Lady Saints softball team has scored just one run in
each of its last four games. The team's latest defeats came from Purdue North Central on a March 25th doubleheader.

Track team running to a new beat: Men's track to be offered next year, says Laketa

USF is going to be adding men's track to its intercollegiate offerings next year.

“We will use the quality experience the women had this past year in helping recruit for our men's programs,” USF Director of Athletics, Dave Laketa said.


Coach Drew Ludtke, who coaches the women's track team, will also take on the responsibilities of the men's team. “We will begin accepting inquiries from male prospects immediately and start to put an emphasison recruiting student-athletes for the new programs,” said Ludtke. [MORE]

Men's and Women's tennis: Double up

The University of St. Francis men's tennis team won its fifth straight match and moved its overall record to 7-5 with an 8-1 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (IN) on Mar. 18th.

The Saints swept the three doubles matches and took five of the six singles bouts in the easy win. All five singles wins came in straight sets, while USF's lone loss was a close, three-set match.

Men's basketball: Saints 9 - 10 overall

The USF baseball team came back from a 7-7 Florida trip in hopes of bringing the summer sun with them, and the momentum of playing some difficult teams.

In the home opening doubleheader on St. Patrick's Day, the Saints split with Indiana Institute of Technology 3-5 and 2-0.
