
Welcome to the homepage of Dr. Michael V. LaRocco. This page is designed to introduce Dr. LaRocco and provide a brief history of his academic and professional business background. Dr. LaRocco was named Dean of the College of Business in 2004 and the Dean of the College of Professional Studies in 2007. Dr. LaRocco was the 2005 recipient of the University of St. Francis Innovation Award, the 2001 recipient of the Special and Salutary Award" for the use of technology in teaching and the 1993 recipient of the University of St. Francis "Excellence in teaching and campus leadership award."

As Dean of the College of Business and the College of Professional Studies, I manage the daily operation of both Colleges and provide leadership in achieving and maintaining high quality academic programs.
My responsibilities for both colleges include hiring and supervising faculty, administration and staff as well as conducting program reviews and annual assessments to ensure that the academic programs of the colleges conform to the accreditation standards of the Higher Learning Commission (NCA). In addition, I develop and administer the strategic plan for both colleges within the constraints of the university strategic plan. I also determine and administer the academic budgets, ensuring that student and faculty support systems are in place.
As Dean, I have the opportunity to represent the colleges at functions involving professional organizations, community service agencies, businesses and industries and, where possible develop partnerships for our programs.

As Coordinator of the Graduate Business Program at its inception he has been responsible for curriculum development, recruitment, and overall administration of the Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Science in Management Programs. In addition, he was appointed as the first full professor to teach in these programs.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, in 1981 he was appointed Director of the Business Administration Program. This included responsibility for curriculum management and development in four major areas Marketing, Management, Accounting, and Finance. He was also responsible for the development of the Information Science (Computer Science) major, which is now a self-standing program.
