Search Engines & Web Directories:

Altavista:  The BEST!  I have found this to be the most academic search engine for all of my research.  It has the most comprehensive searches, I think.  No other search engines found as many sites for "Dvaravati" as this one.

Yahoo:  Although not as 'academic,' it is still a great one to use- as a directory rather than a search engine.  There are so many Yahoos now, and so there are more things to look at within them.  Go to Regional/Countries/(country name) for a good start on lists for websites.

Mining Co.:  Both a directory and a search engine like Yahoo, this site offers more.  It is presented well, and there are individual people you can email to ask about a particular area of

Other Helpful Tools:

Classic Currency Converter:  Good to put things into perspective, even with obscure currencies.  From Oanda.

Internet Public Library:  A nice way to start exploring topics, for any paper.

Research-It!:  A well-organized set of tools you can use when on the net.  Offers language translation, thesaurus, dictionary, and more.

Lonely Planet:  Provides interesting information, not just statistics and the usual.  A travel guide to the world, written truthfully.

Perry-Castaneda Library Map Collection:  A great big collection of wonderful maps.  Will always be helpful!
