This Summer we completed our internship at the Joliet Historical Museum.
Most of our time was spent in the off site Warehouse categorizing significant
artifacts like the items shown in the pictures below. During the course
of the summer we came to realize that Joliet has a rich history and
that many people care about preserving it. So we decided to jump on the
bandwagon and do our part. Through the course of this web site we hope
to show what Joliet has to offer.
Enjoy!!!

Many of our days were spent cataloging photo files as seen below.
Sometimes our mannequin friend would help us out, but he was more of a
nuisance then anything!
We
were also allowed to browse and learn further about the different
artifacts within the museum.
This is Jen testing out the antique phone
while Erin does a load of laundry.
Below our images from our visit to the site of the future
Joliet Area Historical Society Museum opening some time this fall.
The museum
will be located in the old Ottawa Street Methodist Church in downtown Joliet.
