Information Literacy
Why do I need it?

Information literacy is important for many reasons. Not only is it crucial for academic achievement, it also forms the basis for knowledge and learning throughout, and in all areas of your life. Anyone who makes decisions about some aspect of their life, be it educational, financial, ethical, social, medical, etc. should be certain that they have as much pertinent information as possible to make an informed decision.

Information literacy is a lifelong process that knows no boundaries. Once an individual obtains a certain level, he/she understands it's importance and will strive to obtain an even higher level of information literacy. As the level of an individual's information literacy increases so does that individual's level of intellectual freedom.
