Limit Your Results - (cont.)
stress in college students

What physiological and psychological effects does stress have on college students' academic and personal lives and what can be done to treat and control it?

Online databases allow you to limit your search in many ways as well.

1. Full-text. Limit your search to only those articles that are available in full-text from that database.

2. Scholarly or Peer-reviewed. Limit your search to only those articles that were written by experts in field. (see Resources Module for definitions of scholarly or peer-reviewed)

3. Date. Limit by date when you need the most current information or have a specific date range in mind. For example, if you need information about George W. Bush's 2000 presidential campaign, limit your search to 1998-2000.

4. Document Type. Limit your results to book reviews, case studies, proceedings, speeches, etc. only.

Now that you are familiar with library resources and how to set up a search strategy, go to the next page to learn what qualities are important when selecting information to use in your paper.
