Marie Zielinski graduated from the University of St. Francis in the Spring of 2007. She student taught with one of the Partnership schools through the Joliet Professional Development Schools Partnership (JPDSP) Fellows Program at Farragut Elementary School. She completed both her Elementary Education Intermediate Field Experience (IFE) and Elementary Education Advanced Field Experience (AFE) at Farragut Elementary. After graduation in Spring of 2007, Marie joined the Farragut staff as a 4th grade Instructional Learning Disabilities teacher. She was very excited to have her own classroom and genuinely enjoyed being around children and teaching them everyday. In the Fall of 2008, Farragut Elementary School began inclusion and Marie became the 5th grade inclusion teacher where she instantaneously began to co-teach and make a difference not only with her special education students, but with the general education students in the inclusion room. Marie truly had a special touch and connected with any child who was fortunate to have had her as a teacher. In her short time in education, Marie made a lasting impact on her students, as well as many of her coworkers. Her commitment to education along with her personal strength and courage is to be admired.
