University of St. Francis has purchased the historic Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate convent at 520 Plainfield Road in Joliet. Built in 1881, the Motherhouse will become the "front door" of the University.
This building will become home to the College of Nursing and Allied Health, a health and wellness clinic open to the community, USF Solutions, a conferencing center, Admissions, Office of the President, Alumni and Development Department, and a second food service for the university. In addition the Chapel on the third floor will be open to the community. The remaining portion of the building will consist of student housing.
