Bishop Imesh "Women Lecture Series"

The Bishop Joseph L. Imesch "Women in the Church Lecture Series" was inaugurated in 2005 to honor the Bishop on the occasion of his anniversary as Bishop of Joliet. The University of St. Francis' gift of an annual "Women's Lecture Series" is in honor and praise of his work with the United States Catholic Bishops on women's issues in the church. Dr. Susan Ross, Author and Professor of Theology at Loyola University, Chicago was the series' inaugural speaker. She spoke on "The Bishops and Women: :Lessons from the Past and Present." On November 8, 2006, Dr. Barbara E. Reid, O.P., Professor of New Testament Studies at the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago will speak on "The passion of Jesus Through the Eyes of Women."
