We at the University of St. Francis are academic men and women committed to Gospel values.

The Center for the Study of Contemporary Ethics has grown out of the concern for the challenges of Christian living in the modern world. We will examine the moral issues of the day in the light of the moral teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi.

• The Center has been established to assist faculty, students and the broader community achieve greater understanding of the ethical dimensions of life.
• The Center is guided by the Franciscan belief that the peace of peacemakers is to be found in all places.
• The Center’s goal is to provide a forum for open, honest, responsible dialogue in ethics, which extends to the greater community, believing that it is through dialogue that mature, moral judgment is developed within individuals and groups.
